A Community Group in ParentSquare is a feature that allows school districts to communicate with people outside of current students, staff, and parents.

We appreciate your interest in the "happenings" of the Kettering City Schools!

When you opt in to the ParentSquare KCS Communty Group, the types of communications you will receive will typically pertain to districtwide events and activities, as well as urgent/emergency alerts surrounding safety and security issues and calamity day ("snow day") notifications.

If you would like to receive building-specific communications and alerts, please opt in to any school listed in the KCS Community Group Opt-In Link (below), and you will become a member of that school's "Community Group."

IMPORTANT NOTE -- Parents/Guardians listed in their child(ren)'s PowerSchool account DO NOT need to also sign up for district or individual building Community Groups. As the parent/guardian listed in your child's PowerSchool Account, you are automatically going to receive all district notifications and emergency alerts, as well as communications and emergency alerts sent by your child(ren)'s school(s).

Cross Safe, Kettering is a community-wide campaign dedicated to keeping every person safe as they navigate Kettering's streets. Launched by the City of Kettering and supported by the Kettering City Schools, this initiative is built on a simple but powerful idea: our streets are safer when everyone, drivers and pedestrians alike, takes responsibility for looking out for one another.

We care about you, Kettering. That is at the heart of everything we do, and it is why we are committed to partnering with the City of Kettering to grow awareness, build good habits and foster a culture of shared safety across our community. In Kettering, we are respectful, responsible and safe, and that does not stop when we step out the door.

The Cross Safe, Kettering campaign is all about looking out for one another, and the City of Kettering -- in conjunction with Miami Valley Communications Council -- put that into action with a short safety video. If we can all follow the simple rules laid out in this video, we will all get home safely.
